Miley Cyrus is reflecting on a pivotal moment in her career, and she now admits she regrets abandoning one of her most ambitious creative projects. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer revealed that shelving the She Is trilogy of EPs still weighs on her. “I was working on three EPs. Part of me is bummed out that I abandoned that idea because it wasn’t totally my idea to leave it alone. My life was a mess,” she said.
The She Is project was launched in 2019 with She Is Coming, a bold, genre-blending EP. The record fused pop, hip-hop, R&B, rock, and trap influences and featured collaborations with Ghostface Killah, RuPaul, and Swae Lee. It debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, signaling a strong foundation for what was intended to be a three-part rollout culminating in the full-length album She Is Miley Cyrus.
However, the remaining two EPs were never released. As Cyrus navigated personal upheaval and major shifts in her career, the project was quietly set aside. Some songs later resurfaced on Plastic Hearts, her acclaimed 2020 album that marked a turn toward rock and synth-driven pop. Still, fans have long wondered what the completed trilogy might have sounded like. Miley’s career then continued with the Endless Summer Vacation era, which earned her her first long-awaited Grammy win, and the visual album Something Beautiful.
