Miley Cyrus is carefully managing expectations around one of pop culture’s most enduring legacies. In a new interview with Variety, the Grammy-winning artist addressed ongoing speculation about a Hannah Montana 20th anniversary concert, confirming that discussions are happening but nothing has been finalized.

TBD. That’s still in the works,” Cyrus said. She emphasized that any project tied to Hannah Montana must be handled with intention. “All I will say, I want to make something that’s meaningful, thoughtful, really satisfying for the fans. I want fans to feel seen.”

The comments arrive as interest around the franchise continues to surge ahead of its 20th anniversary in 2026. Hannah Montana originally aired from 2006 to 2011 and became a defining Disney Channel phenomenon, spawning chart-topping soundtracks, sold-out tours, and a feature film. Cyrus’ dual role as Miley Stewart and pop star Hannah Montana helped shape a generation of young viewers and launched her global music career.

In recent months, Cyrus has made it clear that she intends to remain closely involved in how the Hannah Montana legacy is honored. While promoting her new song “Dream as One” for Avatar: Fire and Ash, she pushed back against rumors of a reboot without her participation. “I don’t know if there’s a new Hannah — this is the only Hannah,” she said.

In a previous Good Morning America appearance, she revealed that she is actively developing ideas to honor the franchise in a way that feels authentic.

The timing aligns with a strong chapter in Cyrus’ career. Her latest album, Something Beautiful, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and received widespread critical praise.
