October 9 brings new music from Troye Sivan, Slayyyter and Dominic Fike, with a full-length album, a sharp-edged pop single and a highly anticipated project taking different paths.
Three years after Something to Give Each Other, Troye Sivan returns with a record that trades the previous album’s euphoric club energy for softer, more introspective textures. She’s the Best leans into soft rock and orchestral pop, exploring the people and relationships that offer stability amid the demands of fame, work and a constantly shifting personal life.
The previously released title track establishes that mood through spoken-word verses and a trip-hop rhythm, before accelerating into a double-time outro featuring Charli XCX. Its music video also brings Nicole Kidman and Sasha Colby into the album’s visual world. Elsewhere, the Madonna-sampling “Party” embraces the affirmation of a night out, while “I Do This for You” and “Le Boy” explore different shades of longing. The closing track, “Lost Time,” features Lily-Rose Depp.
Slayyyter, meanwhile, returns with “I Think He’s Got a Girl,” the third single from her upcoming December companion project, wor$t man in america.
The song follows a major year for Slayyyter. WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Albums chart and earned her a Hot 100 entry, marking a significant step beyond the underground pop scene where she first built her following.
Noteworthy releases also come from Offset x Don Toliver, Gunna, Carly Rae Jepsen, YUQI, girl in red, BigXThaPlug x Ava Max,, and more.
