Addison Rae has announced that her debut album, Addison, set to release on June 6, 2025, will not include any ballads. In a recent interview on The New York Times’ Popcast, Addison explained her decision, stating, “I’m not one to really listen to slow, emotional music very much. I’m such an emotional person naturally that I get there by myself… unless it’s like ‘Landslide’ or ‘Songbird’ by Fleetwood Mac.

The 12-track album, produced in collaboration with Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd, reflects the singer’s preference for upbeat, energetic music. A first hint of this direction was evident in the singles she’s released so far. In fact, Addison has been preceded by “Diet Pepsi,” “Aquamarine,” “High Fashion,” “Headphones On,” and the latest, “Fame Is a Gun.”

Addison Rae’s journey into music began with her 2021 single “Obsessed,” which received mixed reviews. Despite initial criticism, she remained committed to her musical aspirations, leading to the development of Addison. In her appearance on Popcast, she revealed that she felt “a little beaten down” by the negative response to the song, but she still hopes that “one day ‘Obsessed’ will get its ‘Stars Are Blind’ moment.”
