Ariana Grande is giving fans new ways to experience her latest hit. Just days after “hate that i made you love me” debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s global chart, the singer has released both a cappella and instrumental versions of the track, expanding the rollout of the lead single from her upcoming album petal.
The new editions are currently available as exclusive downloads through the iTunes Store, offering listeners the chance to hear the song from a different perspective. The a cappella version places Grande’s vocals front and center. Meanwhile, the instrumental strips away the vocal performance entirely, putting the spotlight on the production crafted alongside longtime collaborators Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh.
The release arrives during a particularly strong commercial moment for Grande. On June 1, “hate that i made you love me” returned to No. 1 on the Daily Global Spotify Chart with 5.539 million streams, marking its second day atop the platform’s worldwide ranking. That achievement made Grande the first female artist to spend multiple days at No. 1 on Spotify’s global chart with a song released in 2026.
Momentum behind the single has only intensified since the arrival of its official music video on June 1. Directed by Christian Breslauer, the cinematic visual stars actor Justin Long and unfolds as a surreal psychological thriller centered on obsession, emotional destruction, and revenge.
This week, Grande will also kick off her highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine Tour, giving fans their first chance to hear “hate that i made you love me” and hits from her acclaimed seventh album, Eternal Sunshine, live.
