Ariana Grande has set clear expectations for fans eager for new music ahead of her highly anticipated return to the road. In a new interview with Variety, the global pop star confirmed that no new material will arrive before the launch of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which kicks off in May.

No — definitely not. Nothing is coming before May,” Grande said, addressing ongoing fan theories head-on. With a mix of humor and honesty, she added, “I love [Arianators] so much, but sometimes I want to ask, ‘Do you think there’s another version of me out there who had time to write an album?’ Not yet — but soon enough.”

Grande’s comments arrive as excitement builds for her first world tour in seven years. The Eternal Sunshine Tour supports her 2024 album of the same name, a critically acclaimed release that debuted at No. 1 in multiple countries and yielded major hits including “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).”

That approach aligns with what she recently shared on Good Hang with Amy Poehler, where she described the upcoming tour as potentially her “one last hurrah” for a long while. While careful not to frame it as a farewell, Grande acknowledged that she anticipates a meaningful pause after the tour ends.

The singer has also addressed broader questions about her future in music during a recent New York Times interview, reassuring listeners that she is not stepping away. Music, she emphasized, remains permanent. The timeline may look different, but the commitment has not changed. Her evolving career now includes major film roles, including Wicked: For Good, and the continued expansion of her beauty brand, r.e.m. beauty.
