Billie Eilish is leaning into nostalgia in a way fans didn’t expect. On April 23, she shared a carousel of photos and videos revisiting her Belieber era, including a deeply personal Notes App message written for Justin Bieber’s 20th birthday in 2014.
The message, preserved exactly as it was typed at the time, reads like a time capsule of teenage devotion: “~justin drew bieber… Where do I even start… 20 years ago today, the best singer and person in the world was born.. I don’t know how someone as perfect as you is possible to be alive.! You’re an amazing singer, amazing dancer, amazing drummer, Ur soo00000o SEXY!!, so sweet to Ur fans, Ur hilarious… No words can explain how much I love you!!! If you only knew I existed… I have always been a belieber and I always will be!!! I will be here for you through thick and thin!! I love you to infinity and beyond!!! HAPPY BIRTH DAY BABY ~!!!!!!!!”
Alongside the note, Eilish posted throwback images of her childhood bedroom, walls fully covered in Bieber posters, as well as clips from that period. The visual contrast is striking given where both artists stand today, with the post arriving just days after their widely shared Coachella moment.
That full-circle narrative reached a peak on April 17, when Bieber brought Eilish onstage during his headline set at the Coachella Weekend 2. Midway through a performance of “One Less Lonely Girl,” he introduced her instead of a fan, turning a long-running concert tradition into a generational crossover.
Eilish has never hidden her early fandom. She has repeatedly described herself as an “OG Belieber,” recalling how she defended him online, cried over his music, and followed his career closely. That connection evolved publicly in 2019, when the two first met backstage at Coachella during Ariana Grande’s set, a moment that showed a visibly overwhelmed 17-year-old Eilish meeting one of her biggest idols.
