Olivia Rodrigo is joining the growing list of artists celebrating Justin Bieber’s Coachella 2026 return. During an April 23 appearance on Audacy’s Check In podcast, Rodrigo didn’t hold back her reaction to the headline set, calling it “epic” and highlighting one moment in particular.
“I did see Bieber, it was so epic. I loved it. When he sang ‘Baby’ I think I like lost my mind,” she said, pointing to the 2009 hit that has re-emerged as a centerpiece of his current live shows. The comment reflects how Bieber’s Coachella performance leaned heavily into nostalgia while still tying into his 2026 resurgence.
That set, delivered on April 17 during Weekend 2 of Coachella, ran for 90 minutes and balanced early-career staples with newer material. Songs like “Baby,” “Eenie Meenie,” and “Beauty and a Beat” saw immediate streaming gains following the show, with the latter reaching No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Global chart for the first time, holding the position for 8 days. Guest appearances added further weight, including Billie Eilish during “One Less Lonely Girl” and SZA for “Snooze.”
Rodrigo’s praise arrives at a pivotal moment in her own rollout. Her new single “Drop Dead,” released on April 17, opened with 10.709 million streams on Spotify, debuting at No. 1 on the Global chart. That figure marks the biggest first-day total of her career and the strongest debut by a female artist in 2026 so far. Only three tracks have posted higher single-day numbers this year, placing Rodrigo fourth overall in 2026’s opening-day rankings.
The single serves as the introduction to her upcoming third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, scheduled for release on June 12. Rodrigo has described the track as “the first chapter” of the project, framing it as a snapshot of emotional vulnerability tied to early romantic experiences. Early demand suggests strong anticipation, with the album already surpassing 2.5 million pre-saves on Spotify ahead of its release.
