BLACKPINK members LISA and ROSÉ raised eyebrows—and laughter—during their DEADLINE World Tour stop in Chicago on July 19, when they appeared to spoof Coldplay’s recent viral “Kiss Cam” controversy live on stage.

During the show at Soldier Field, the two global superstars acted out a moment that fans quickly recognized as a playful nod to the July 16 Coldplay concert in Foxborough. At that show, a now-infamous Jumbotron shot featured two top executives from the company Astronomer—CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot—caught in an awkward embrace. Once they realized they were on camera, they froze, then ducked out of frame. The clip exploded online, sparking #ColdplayGate and leading to both executives being placed on leave.

At BLACKPINK’s concert, LISA suddenly clung to ROSÉ in dramatic fashion, mirroring the original moment almost beat for beat. Fans erupted in cheers, with many instantly connecting it to the Coldplay debacle.

The move fits the pair’s well-known sense of humor. In past interviews, they’ve shared that reenacting trending or funny clips has long been part of their off-stage dynamic since their trainee years. While the group didn’t mention Coldplay by name, the timing and gestures left little doubt about the reference.

Jokes aside, BLACKPINK will continue the North American leg of their DEADLINE tour, with the next stop set for Toronto on July 22.
