Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” has reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Global chart, setting a new peak with 4.727 million streams. The milestone comes just one day after the country icon’s catalog surged across streaming platforms following her death on August 25, 2026.
On the Daily Global Spotify chart dated August 26, “Jolene” jumped from No. 26 to the top position, nearly doubling its previous day’s 2.3 million streams. The song’s latest performance places one of Parton’s defining recordings ahead of the biggest songs currently dominating worldwide streaming.
Dolly Parton also occupies multiple positions across the Global Top 200. “9 to 5” rises to No. 2 with 3.948 million streams, while “Islands in the Stream,” her enduring duet with Kenny Rogers, reaches No. 4 with 3.451 million.
The surge continues further down the chart. “I Will Always Love You” sits at No. 28 with 2.293 million streams, followed by “Coat of Many Colors” at No. 45 with 1.962 million. “Here You Come Again” lands at No. 62 with 1.753 million, while “My Tennessee Mountain Home” enters at No. 162 with 1.254 million streams.
The latest numbers represent another dramatic increase from the previous day. On the August 25 Global Spotify chart, “Jolene” opened at No. 26 with 2.3 million streams, “9 to 5” debuted at No. 51 with 1.8 million and “Islands in the Stream” reached No. 74 with 1.6 million.
Notably, Parton was also the most streamed female artist on Spotify on August 26.
Parton’s catalog has experienced a similarly extraordinary reaction in the United States. On the U.S. Spotify chart, “Jolene” debuted at No. 2 with 1.29 million streams, followed by “9 to 5” at No. 3 with 1.13 million. “Islands in the Stream” re-entered at No. 8 with 885,000 streams, while “I Will Always Love You” debuted at No. 15 with 688,000.
Her presence has extended beyond Spotify. Parton occupies 92 of the top 200 positions on the U.S. iTunes chart, including 65 of the top 100, and broke the record for the most simultaneous tracks in the U.S. iTunes Top 30 with 26 songs. She also took over the entire Top 7, led by “I Will Always Love You,” “Jolene” and “9 to 5.”
Apple Music has recorded a comparable response, with “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” “Islands in the Stream” and “I Will Always Love You” all appearing inside the Global Top 10. In the U.S., five Parton songs occupy the Top 10, including “Coat of Many Colors” at No. 10.
The extraordinary streaming response comes as artists across generations continue to pay tribute to Parton. Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter, Mariah Carey, Julia Michaels, Lauren Jauregui, Chloe Bailey and Shaboozey have all publicly honored the singer and songwriter since her death.
