The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards took place on September 14, 2025, live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with comedian Nate Bargatze as host and CBS/Paramount+ airing the ceremony. While television’s biggest night celebrated the best in storytelling, acting, and production, the music categories once again stole the spotlight by honoring the creative forces that shape television’s sound.
One of the biggest headlines was Kendrick Lamar’s historic Emmy win. The rap icon earned Outstanding Music Direction for his Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, making him an official Emmy winner.
