Katy Perry has come out on top in InMusic’s latest Instagram poll, with fans voting “Watch It Burn” as the best new release of the week. The singer narrowly edged out Gracie Abrams in one of the closest fan votes in recent months.
After hundreds of votes, the final results placed “Watch It Burn” in first with 37%, followed closely by Gracie Abrams’ “Look At My Life” at 34%. Charli xcx’s “Wink Wink” finished third with 23%, while Future’s “Radio” rounded out the poll with 6%.
The result caps off a strong first weekend for Perry’s comeback single, which officially launched her latest musical era on June 25. Produced by Justin Tranter, Jason Gill, Eren Cannata, and Daniel Crean, “Watch It Burn” pairs dark synth-pop production with some of Perry’s most emotionally vulnerable songwriting to date. Ahead of the release, she described the track as an honest reflection on confronting emotions she had suppressed for years, calling it a song about wrestling with darkness before ultimately finding liberation. The Christian Breslauer-directed music video expanded that narrative through cinematic visuals centered around transformation and rebirth. On Spotify, the single opened with just over 1.2 million streams during its first day.
Despite finishing second, Abrams delivered the biggest streaming debut among this week’s releases. Her new single “Look At My Life,” the latest preview of her upcoming album Daughter From Hell, debuted with nearly 2 million Spotify streams in its opening 24 hours. Written and produced alongside Aaron Dessner, the introspective record arrived with a music video directed by Mitch Ryan and continues building anticipation for the album’s July 17 release.
Charli xcx also attracted significant attention with “Wink Wink,” the third single from her forthcoming album Music, Fashion, Film. Released alongside a playful Aidan Zamiri-directed visual, the energetic post-punk-inspired track earned 23% of the vote.
Future completed the lineup with “Radio,” the lead single from his upcoming album The Real Me. While the atmospheric trap record received 6% of the poll, it still marks the beginning of a new chapter for the rapper before the album arrives on July 10.
