BLACKPINK returned to the Philippines this weekend for two highly anticipated stops of their DEADLINE World Tour, performing at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on November 22–23. The venue, known as the world’s largest indoor arena with a 55,000-seat capacity, welcomed the group back to Manila for the first time in two years. The opening night was completely sold out, showcasing the group’s enduring dominance and the passion of Filipino BLINKs. Yet amid the excitement, one moment stood out for its honesty and vulnerability: ROSÉ revealed she was performing while fighting a cold.

During the November 22 show, ROSÉ spoke directly to the crowd, explaining that she had been sick since at least the previous day, likely due to the demanding Asia leg of the tour, which recently passed through Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. Fans had noticed signs of strain, including coughing backstage and vocal fatigue during rehearsals. Still, ROSÉ powered through the entire set with full live vocals.

Despite her condition, ROSÉ’s energy remained steady throughout the night. A now-viral moment captured her thanking the audience for singing along during her solo stage. “My voice is okay, ’cause I had a cold yesterday on the flight over,” she told the crowd. “I took medicine and slept, but when I woke up, I said, ‘Oh no, I think I kinda lost it.’ So thank you everybody for singing with me.”

The DEADLINE World Tour has already become one of BLACKPINK’s most successful outings to date. Since kicking off in July in Goyang, the tour has drawn more than 1.8 million fans across North America, Europe, and Asia. Each show features explosive performances of group-defining hits such as “Pink Venom,” “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” and “Kill This Love,” paired with polished solo sets from JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA. The tour also marks their first group return since the Born Pink era, following a wave of individual success: ROSÉ’s 2024 debut album rosie, JISOO’s AMORTAGE, LISA’s Alter Ego, and JENNIE’s Ruby.

BLACKPINK began the tour with their new single “Jump,” but the momentum is far from over. YG Entertainment has already confirmed a new album arriving in early 2026, and the group recently filmed a music video for the album’s second single, expected before year-end.
