Laneway Festival is returning in 2027 with a new four-city edition and a lineup that brings together major alternative, pop and electronic names with some of the scene’s most talked-about emerging artists. Hayley Williams, Fontaines D.C., Slayyyter and ADÉLA lead the bill, alongside Kim Petras, MUNA, Rachel Chinouriri, Rico Nasty, Ninajirachi and Jane Remover.

The festival will take place across February 2027, beginning at Centennial Park in Sydney on Feb. 12 before moving to Brisbane Showgrounds on Feb. 13. Melbourne follows at Flemington Park on Feb. 19, while the Australian-New Zealand run concludes at Auckland’s Western Springs on Feb. 21.

Williams will appear as a solo artist rather than with Paramore, bringing her The Hayley Williams Show tour to the festival circuit. The dates form part of her touring cycle behind 2025’s Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, with additional headline performances scheduled at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Feb. 10 and Melbourne’s Forum on Feb. 17.

Slayyyter also arrives in Australia following her August 2026 headline dates on the Wor$t Girl In The World tour. ADÉLA brings another distinctly international story to the 2027 bill. The 22-year-old Slovak singer-songwriter has rapidly expanded her profile with her debut album PRIMA. The project reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and helped make ADÉLA the first Slovak artist to appear on the Billboard Hot 100.

The new festival edition also reflects Laneway’s long-running commitment to placing emerging acts alongside established names. MUNA, Rachel Chinouriri, Rico Nasty, Ninajirachi and Jane Remover join the headline contingent, creating a bill that moves freely between indie, pop, alternative, rap and electronic music.

That mix goes back to the festival’s beginnings. Laneway started in Melbourne in 2005 as a small Sunday event connected to St. Jerome’s, a bar operated by Jerome Borazio in Caledonian Lane. The inaugural edition on Feb. 27, 2005, drew roughly 1,400 people and featured The Avalanches, Cut Copy, Eskimo Joe and Art of Fighting.

Sydney joined the festival in 2006, followed by Brisbane in 2007, while Auckland was added in 2010. Laneway eventually expanded beyond its original Melbourne home, but retained its reputation for putting emerging artists on the same stages as established performers.

The 2026 edition celebrated Laneway’s 21st anniversary with Chappell Roan at the top of the bill alongside Wolf Alice, Wet Leg and PinkPantheress. For 2027, organizers are scaling the touring footprint back to four cities, with Adelaide and Perth paused as the festival team focuses on production and leaves room for standalone headline shows in those markets.

The Laneway Festival 2027 pre-sale, presented by Afterpay, begins Wednesday, Oct. 7, offering fans the first opportunity to access tickets at first-release prices.
