The announcement gives listeners another way to connect with LISA’s next solo chapter before its public release. With anticipation building around the project, the listening parties could offer an early opportunity to hear how the singer brings together the different sounds and influences shaping her latest work.

LISA discussed that creative direction during her first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on September 16. She explained that PRESS PLAY reflects her journey from her Thai roots to the person she has become today, with Thai musical elements woven throughout the six tracks.

The project’s first single, “SaWaDiKa,” arrived on September 4 through LLOUD and RCA. Inspired by the Thai greeting “sawatdi kha,” the dance-pop track introduced the cultural influences running through this new era. Its music video, filmed in Bangkok and directed by Joseph Kahn, generated approximately 70.8 million views in its first 24 hours.

“SaWaDiKa” also made an impact on the US charts, debuting at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated September 19. The entry brought LISA’s career total to seven appearances on the chart, tying JENNIE for the most Hot 100 entries among female K-pop soloists at the time.

PRESS PLAY will follow LISA’s 2025 debut solo album Alter Ego, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. The new EP is positioned as a more focused statement about her identity, bringing together Thai influences and the experiences that have shaped her career since her rise with BLACKPINK.
