Louis Tomlinson is entering the final stretch before the release of his third solo album, How Did I Get Here?, with an unusually open moment of reflection. Just hours after dropping his new single “Imposter,” the singer took to X late on January 20 to thank fans for the role they have played in shaping both the song and the album that follows. The message, written in plain and heartfelt terms, quickly resonated across his fanbase.
“Let me take this moment to say thank you to every single person that has supported me over the years,” Tomlinson wrote. “You are throughout this record and everything I do. This album would never have sounded the way it does without all the power and confidence you lot have given me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! How did I get here?”
Released on January 20, 2026, “Imposter” is the latest preview of How Did I Get Here?, Tomlinson’s first full-length album since 2022’s Faith in the Future. The project has been gradually unveiled through earlier singles “Palaces” and “Lemonade,” both of which were warmly received and voted best new release by InMusic readers at the time.
In a separate recent post, Tomlinson reflected on how pivotal the past year has been to the record’s formation. “2025 has been a year full of reflection, creation, and building,” he wrote. “Making the record, releasing the singles, getting the work in. It felt like a build-up all year.”
How Did I Get Here? is set to arrive on January 23.
