Miley Cyrus is back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking her first chart-topping album in more than a decade. Bass Persuades opens with 61,000 equivalent album units, giving Cyrus her first leader since 2013’s Bangerz and extending a Top 10 run that now spans 16 projects.
The 10-track album, released September 18, becomes Miley Cyrus’ sixth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when counting her releases billed as Miley and Miley Cyrus, as well as her soundtrack albums tied to Hannah Montana. Her previous chart-topper, Bangerz, reached No. 1 in October 2013, making Bass Persuades her first album to return to the summit in nearly 13 years.

Miley Cyrus’ new album also adds another Top 10 entry to a run that has remained active across her recent catalog. Something Beautiful opened at No. 4, while Endless Summer Vacation debuted at No. 3, placing Bass Persuades between two recent releases that also made significant starts on the Billboard 200.
The album’s opening week was supported by several limited digital releases that arrived during the tracking period. Miley issued instrumental and a cappella versions of Bass Persuades through iTunes on September 22, giving listeners the opportunity to hear all 10 songs without their standard vocal or instrumental arrangements.
A demo edition followed, featuring “Aftermath (Demo)” alongside five previously unheard voice notes documenting Cyrus’ songwriting process. The release was available exclusively through iTunes until 11:59 p.m. ET on September 24, placing the additional material directly within the album’s first-week sales window.
The No. 1 debut also arrives at a new point in Miley Cyrus’ career. Bass Persuades is her 10th studio album and her first project for Atlantic Records after leaving Columbia Records, with the campaign also marking her first release promoted under the mononym MILEY.
Behind Cyrus, Riley Green earned his first Billboard 200 Top 10 with That’s Just Me, which opened at No. 3 with 60,000 equivalent album units. Beabadoobee also scored her first Top 10-charting project as Pylon debuted at No. 7 with 35,000 units.
