Nicki Minaj has weighed in after Cardi B made Billboard 200 history. Following the news that Cardi’s second studio album, Am I The Drama?, debuted at No. 1 with 200,000 equivalent album units, Minaj took to X (formerly Twitter) to remind fans of her own record-setting success.
The rap legend reposted the chart update and emphasized that her 2023 album, Pink Friday 2, still holds the biggest debut for a female rap album of the 2020s—opening with 228,000 units and setting a new standard on Global Spotify for streaming numbers by a woman in hip-hop.
“Oh Barbz, I love you so… All I can say is—3.27.26. Her latest post comes just hours after confirming NM6’s release date via her Instagram bio. The update, which included the message “3.27.26 = THE NEW INCREDIBLE ALBUM,” marked the start of a new era. Minaj also swapped her profile photo for a nostalgic throwback, hinting at deeply personal themes for the upcoming project.
