A new visual clue tied to Olivia Rodrigo’s next era has surfaced in Los Angeles, where her evolving OR3 mural on Melrose Avenue was updated with a fresh line that appears to preview unreleased lyrics. The addition arrives just one day after the singer wiped her Instagram account on April 1, intensifying speculation that a major rollout is imminent.

The mural now reads, “You seem pretty sad for a girl so in love,” a pointed, emotionally layered phrase that aligns with Rodrigo’s signature writing style. Positioned alongside earlier changes—including color shifts and the standalone word “LOVE”—the update suggests a more defined thematic direction for her third album. Each alteration has been tracked closely by fans, turning the Melrose installation into a real-time teaser hub.

Timing has become a central element of the campaign. Rodrigo archived more than 140 Instagram posts on April 1, a date that also marked the fifth anniversary of “deja vu,” one of the breakout singles from her debut era. That move followed a March 20 update to her fan hotline, where she referenced “true clarity and renewal just after the pink moon,” pointing directly to April’s lunar cycle as a potential launch window.

Visual transitions across platforms reinforce the shift. Her official website recently moved away from the deep purple palette associated with GUTS, replacing it with brighter pink tones that echo the mural’s evolving aesthetic. Meanwhile, a heart-shaped lock installation in London stamped with “April” quickly circulated online.

Creative direction appears to be expanding as well. In a recent interview with British Vogue, Rodrigo described the upcoming project as “very varied,” noting a desire to explore joy more directly—an emotional space that was only briefly touched on across SOUR and GUTS.
