Olivia Rodrigo officially launched The Unraveled Tour on Friday, September 25, bringing her third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, to the stage with a sold-out opening night at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut. The two-hour performance turned the album’s relationship narrative into a theatrical live show built around four seasons, dramatic production and some of Rodrigo’s biggest hits.
The opening night was the first of two Hartford shows and kicked off an 86-date North American and European run. Wolf Alice opened the concert, while Olivia Rodrigo performed on a stage covered in wildflowers and illuminated by constantly shifting lights, creating an overgrown romantic setting that matched the emotional arc of the new record.

Before the music began, Olivia Rodrigo sang “Happy Birthday” to her mother before launching into a dreamy “Drop Dead,” immediately establishing the show’s atmosphere. The set then moved into “U + Me = <3” and “So American” before the first major catalog moment, “Good 4 U.”
Rodrigo divided the main portion of the concert into Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter sections. Summer brought “Serena Joy,” the non-album track, alongside “Bad Idea Right?,” “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl,” “Vampire” and “Purple,” while the Autumn section shifted toward the darker side of her newest material with “Stupid Song,” “Maggots for Brains,” “Begged,” “Cigarette Smoke” and “Traitor.”
The Winter portion slowed the pace considerably. “Honeybee,” “Favorite Crime,” “Drivers License” and “Less” gave the crowd a run of more intimate performances before Olivia Rodrigo reached the show’s most visually striking production moment with “The Cure.”
During the song, artificial rain poured across the stage as Rodrigo performed in a white Hussein Chalayan water-soluble micro minidress. The garment dissolved in real time into soapy suds, revealing a structured red corset minidress underneath as Rodrigo continued singing through the downpour.
The encore returned to a Spring theme, with Olivia Rodrigo performing “Deja Vu,” “All-American B-tch” and “Expectations” to close the night. Nearly the entire 13-track you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love was represented in the set, with “What’s Wrong With Me” the only album track left off the opening-night performance.
The tour arrives after a major opening for Rodrigo’s third album. Released June 12, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 485,000 equivalent album units, including 273,000 pure sales and 218.41 million on-demand streams. It became her third consecutive No. 1 album and remained at the summit for a second week with 180,000 units.
Every song from the album also entered the Billboard Hot 100’s top 30, with “Drop Dead” reaching No. 1 and “Stupid Song” debuting at No. 3.
