Sabrina Carpenter is stepping into the spotlight tonight for her first-ever double duty on Saturday Night Live, serving as both host and musical guest for the October 18 episode. The pop star and actress joins an elite group of performers who have taken on both roles in a single night — and fans are already buzzing about what’s to come.

The episode marks the third new installment of Season 51, following SNL’s return earlier this month. After a high-energy start with Bad Bunny and Doja Cat on October 4, and Amy Poehler with Role Model on October 11, the show is keeping its momentum strong with Carpenter’s highly anticipated appearance.

With her witty humor, charisma, and self-aware stage presence, Sabrina seems like a natural fit for Studio 8H. NBC teased her episode as one packed with “cheeky, innuendo-laden humor” and her signature love for “Go Go Juice,” promising an unpredictable night.

This will be Carpenter’s first time hosting Saturday Night Live and her second time performing as a musical guest. She made her SNL debut on the Season 49 finale alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, where she treated the audience to a performance of her biggest hit, “Espresso.” She later returned during SNL 50 to perform with Paul Simon and appear in the final “Domingo” sketch.

Tonight’s double-duty gig comes amid a monumental year for the 26-year-old superstar. Fresh off her critically acclaimed and chart-topping new album Man’s Best Friend, Sabrina spent most of the year on the road for her Short n’ Sweet Tour, performing hits like “Please Please Please” and “Taste.” The tour will resume next week for its final stretch in North America, giving fans the chance to enjoy new material from Man’s Best Friend.

Tonight, fans can expect her to perform tracks from the album, likely “Manchild,” the album’s lead single, and “Tears.”

As tradition goes, the episode airs at 11:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 p.m. CT / 8:30 p.m. PT on NBC, with simultaneous streaming available on Peacock. After tonight’s episode, Saturday Night Live will take a one-week break before returning on November 1 with Miles Teller as host and Brandi Carlile as musical guest. Later November episodes will feature Nikki Glaser with Sombr and Glen Powell with Olivia Dean.
