Fans got an unexpected moment during Saturday Night Live when Sabrina Carpenter made a surprise cameo in the returning “Snack Homiez” sketch during the January 17, 2026 episode. Airing as the first new installment of the year following the holiday break, the episode marked Finn Wolfhard’s hosting debut and featured A$AP Rocky as the musical guest.
Carpenter has a long history with SNL. She made her debut in 2024 as a musical guest, performing “Feather” and “Nonsense.” She later returned in early 2025, reviving the viral “Domingo” sketch, before serving as both host and musical guest in October 2025.
The “Snack Homiez” sketch, which originally went viral during Carpenter’s October 2025 episode, is a sharp parody of snack-obsessed preteen podcasters. The recurring bit centers on a group of hyper-online 12- and 13-year-olds who host a podcast reviewing junk food, debating which snacks are “fire,” and tossing around exaggerated internet slang with total sincerity. Its first outing became a breakout hit, boosted by Carpenter’s unexpected transformation into “Tayson,” one of the boys, and a scene-stealing cameo from James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump.
For this encore, Carpenter slipped back into the role of Tayson. The sketch also expanded its cast of characters, with Finn Wolfhard playing Micah, Braylor’s older cousin, a 16-year-old Twitch streamer described as a “looks-maxxing gigachad” who awkwardly clashes with the younger boys’ junk-food obsession by snacking on celery. A$AP Rocky capped off the segment with a late appearance as himself, promoting a fictional snack called “A$AP Fashion Killer Dill Pickle” Rap Chips, neatly tying the sketch into his role as musical guest.
