Today (July 17), the nominations for the Emmy Awards 2024 were unveiled. Taking place on September 15, the ceremony will recognize outstanding achievements in the television industry. Among the actresses nominated for the coveted Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series is none other than Selena Gomez. The singer earned her first Emmy nod for her role as Mabel Mora in the Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building.” Shortly after the nominations announcement, Selena took to her Instagram to share her excitement.

The pop star shared a photo of herself smiling in front of a cake with “Congratulations Emmy nominee!” written on it. She captioned the photo with, “I’m honored and insanely grateful for this. Thank you @onlymurdershulu for giving me Mabel.” This incredible accomplishment follows Selena’s historic win at the Cannes Film Festival 2024, where she was crowned Best Actress for her portrayal of Jessi Del Monte in Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Pérez.”
Beyond the newfound success in her acting career, Selena has also kept an open door for new music. In late February, the 31-year-old pop sensation released the single “Love On,” and her highly anticipated fourth studio album is expected to arrive soon.
