Taylor Swift has once again made Spotify history. Her song “Opalite” — a fan-favorite track from The Life of a Showgirl — has officially surpassed 100 million streams, becoming the fastest non-single to ever reach the milestone on the platform. While Swift’s chart-topping singles are no strangers to breaking records, “Opalite” stands out for achieving this feat without traditional promotion, a music video, or playlisting support.

Released on October 3, Swift’s twelfth studio album has already proven to be a cultural and commercial phenomenon. This week, the record debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart with 423,000 units sold — the biggest opening for any album this decade. The achievement also made Swift the international artist with the most No. 1 albums in UK history, surpassing Elvis Presley. In the UK, Swift also achieved another historic feat, becoming the first female artist ever to occupy the entire Top 3 on the Official Singles Chart — with “The Fate of Ophelia” at No. 1, “Opalite” at No. 2, and “Elizabeth Taylor” at No. 3. The Life of a Showgirl also reached 1 billion streams on Spotify in just 8 days, the second fastest in history.

The song’s success follows the record-breaking performance of Swift’s current single “The Fate of Ophelia”, which shattered multiple streaming records — including the biggest single-day and single-week streams in Spotify history.
