On November 1, KATSEYE set the Star Academy stage ablaze with a show-stopping performance of their hits “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.” The high-energy appearance, broadcast during the third live prime of the French reality singing competition, quickly became one of the night’s biggest moments — particularly when KATSEYE invited contestant Sarah, a standout Parisian student, to join them for “Gabriela.”
The collaboration was met with an outpouring of praise online, with fans celebrating both KATSEYE’s precise choreography and Sarah’s confident stage presence. “The way Lara harmonized with Sarah, I can’t wait until KATSEYE’s future songs have vocal arrangements where they can do this too,” a fan enthusiastically shared on X (formerly Twitter). “SARAH KILLED IT,” another added.

KATSEYE’s Star Academy appearance also holds deeper resonance given their own origins. The six-member group was formed through The Debut: Dream Academy — a 2023 global survival show co-produced by HYBE, the South Korean entertainment powerhouse behind BTS, and Geffen Records, a Universal Music Group label. Their official debut came in June 2024 with “Debut,” but it was their breakout singles “Gnarly” and “Gabriela” that turned them into a global pop phenomenon.
