Don Toliver brought out Drake during his sold-out concert at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on August 31, turning the Octane World Tour stop into an unexpected showcase for Drake’s Iceman era. The surprise appearance marked Drake’s first arena performances of songs from his May album, including the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Janice STFU.”
Emerging from the Mount Wilson Observatory-inspired stage structure, Drake joined Toliver for “Shabang,” before delivering “Burning Bridges” and “Janice STFU.” The latter two songs received their first live performances, giving the Toronto crowd an early opportunity to hear Iceman material in an arena setting.
Following the performance, Don Toliver took a moment to acknowledge Drake’s influence on his own career and on the wider generation of artists that followed him.
“I appreciate you for inspiring us all,” Toliver told Drake. “You know damn well this sh*t wouldn’t be this sh*t if you ain’t do this sh*t… You ain’t just inspired me, you’ve inspired all of us.”
Drake responded by thanking Toliver for “keeping this sh*t alive” and described the night as his first time performing material from Iceman since the album was released. He also praised Toliver for an “incredible year” before turning his attention to the hometown audience, joking that while the two artists share Houston as a second home, Toronto remains “the greatest city in the f***ing world.”
The appearance also carried significance for Toliver, whose Octane era has become the biggest commercial chapter of his career. Released January 30, 2026, the album became his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and inspired the expanded Octane World Tour, also billed as the Nitrous Tour.
Toliver’s Toronto production leaned heavily into the visual world surrounding Octane, with the Mount Wilson Observatory motif serving as a centerpiece of the stage. The second North American leg began August 4 in Sacramento after additional dates were announced in June, bringing the Houston-raised artist to major arenas across the U.S. and Canada before the tour moves to Europe in October.
For Drake, the performance arrives during a pivotal year following the release of Iceman on May 15. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 463,000 equivalent album units, giving Drake his 15th chart-topping album. “Janice STFU” also became one of the project’s defining singles after reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
