Nearly two decades after its release, Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits continues rewriting the record books. The landmark compilation has officially become the first rap album in history to spend 800 weeks on the Billboard 200, extending one of the most remarkable chart runs ever achieved by any album.
The milestone further cements Curtain Call as one of the most enduring releases in music history, demonstrating the lasting popularity of Eminem’s catalog across multiple generations of listeners.
Originally released on December 6, 2005, Curtain Call: The Hits served as the rapper’s first greatest hits collection, bringing together defining singles including “Lose Yourself,” “The Real Slim Shady,” “Without Me,” “Stan,” “Sing for the Moment,” and “Mockingbird.” The album also introduced three new tracks—“Fack,” “When I’m Gone,” and “Shake That” featuring Nate Dogg—giving longtime fans fresh material alongside his biggest classics.
Commercially, the project was an immediate success. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with nearly 441,000 equivalent units after just two sales days and remained atop the chart for two consecutive weeks. During its first three weeks alone, the compilation sold almost 1.2 million copies in the United States, becoming Eminem’s fifth consecutive Billboard 200 No. 1 album.
The album’s impact has only grown over time. In 2022, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified Curtain Call: The Hits Diamond, recognizing more than 10 million units sold in the United States. Its success also extended internationally, reaching No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and earning multi-platinum certifications in several countries.
The record has been a fixture on the Billboard 200 for years. Back in August 2017, Curtain Call became the longest-charting rap album in Billboard 200 history, a title it has continued to extend with each passing year. Reaching 800 weeks now pushes that achievement into entirely new territory, placing the collection alongside some of the longest-charting albums ever released across all genres.
