Travis Scott is teasing his return to music while appearing to link his next move to Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. The rapper posted a photo on Instagram that appears connected to a GTA 6 poster, pairing the image with a cryptic message that points toward an upcoming release or announcement.
“NOW ITS TIME. MY RETURN TO GAME GOTTA COME WITH RAGE AND ALOT OF DANCING LETS RIDE… J… O. H…..to be continued. SEE YALL SOON,” Scott wrote.

Scott has been working on his new album for roughly a year and a half, rebuilding his production process and creating beats from scratch. In June, he told L’Officiel that he had been “mad inspired” while “pushing the sound,” suggesting the project could mark a significant sonic shift from his previous work.
A month later, Travis Scott revealed a surprisingly broad list of influences while appearing on the cover of Variety. Parliament, Oasis, Van Halen, Don Toliver, Raphael Saadiq and Daft Punk are among the artists shaping his current creative mindset. Van Halen has been particularly influential, with Scott pointing to the group’s “mega-choruses and hard bass lines” as an element he wants to bring into his own music.
The GTA 6 connection arrives at an especially interesting moment for the game’s music ecosystem. Since Rockstar Games released its 27-minute Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look preview on August 27, 15 featured songs spanning hip-hop, pop, rock, new wave, Latin and electronic music have experienced increased Spotify activity, including higher streams, playlist additions and renewed discovery among younger listeners.
The timing would also represent a major return after the enormous commercial run of Utopia. Released in July 2023, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 496,000 equivalent album units, while the subsequent Circus Maximus Tour concluded in November 2025 after 88 shows across five continents. The trek grossed $265.1 million from more than 2.1 million tickets, becoming the highest-grossing solo rap tour ever reported.
