Tyler, the Creator is making two fan-favorite deep cuts easier to access. The rapper, producer, and creative visionary has officially released “That Guy” and “Sag Harbor” on major streaming platforms, giving wider distribution to a pair of surprise freestyles that had previously lived outside traditional DSPs.
The move marks the first official streaming release for both tracks, which originally arrived as standalone drops on Christmas Day in consecutive years. Until now, listeners largely relied on YouTube uploads, local files, and unofficial reuploads to revisit the songs.
Released on December 25, 2024, “That Guy” found Tyler rapping over the instrumental of Kendrick Lamar’s “hey now,” one of the standout tracks from the GNX era. Accompanied by a music video filmed in Hawthorne, California, the freestyle doubled as a tribute to his roots, featuring references to familiar locations tied to his Odd Future beginnings.
A year later, Tyler returned with “Sag Harbor,” another Christmas Day surprise. Unlike “That Guy,” the song featured original production from Tyler himself and leaned heavily into reflection. Across the freestyle, he touched on the momentum of his blockbuster 2025, referencing the success of DON’T TAP THE GLASS, his sold-out CHROMAKOPIA world tour, chart achievements, and ambitions that stretch even further into the future. Built around a sample of Cobra Heart Band’s 1983 track “Cobra Heart,” the record blended luxury-minded storytelling with soulful production.
