As tradition dictates, every month, InMusic selects sixteen new songs and allows fans to vote for their favorites through a poll on Instagram. The hottest month of the year brought us fresh music that defines the sound of 2024. Sabrina Carpenter released her highly-anticipated sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet, featuring summer anthems like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” along with new fan favorites such as “Juno” and “Taste.” August was also packed with exciting collaborations: Charli XCX recruited Billie Eilish for the smash hit “Guess” from her latest album BRAT. Another all-female collaboration made waves, as K-pop idol LISA and Latin superstar Rosalía teamed up for “New Woman.” On top of that, two of the most acclaimed artists of the 21st century, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, joined forces for the chart-topping single “Die With A Smile.” Additionally, August saw new music from Shawn Mendes, Tinashe, Khalid, and Halsey, rounding out a month filled with diverse and exciting releases.

After tallying the votes from each round, we have compiled the top 16 songs of August 2024.
