Tyler, The Creator has officially announced his ninth studio album, Don’t Tap the Glass, due out Monday, July 21, via Columbia Records. The surprise reveal took place during his CHROMAKOPIA: The World Tour stop at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where a cryptic video and statue display teased the next phase of his creative evolution.
Like his previous release, CHROMAKOPIA, Tyler is keeping the rollout tight and mysterious. No tracklist or singles have been shared yet, but new album merchandise—including vinyl, CDs, tees, and hats—went live on his Golf Wang website shortly after the announcement.

The album cover shows Tyler shirtless, in bold red and gold. Once again, the rapper’s approach marks another shift away from traditional promo cycles. By dropping announcements mid-tour and leveraging immersive experiences—like custom stage designs and real-life statues—he’s turning concerts into real-time album events. No promo, no teaser—just a surprise announcement.
In addition, just like CHROMAKOPIA, Tyler breaks from the trend of releasing new music on Fridays, as Don’t Tap the Glass arrives on a Monday. Recently, Tyler explained that he believes mid-week releases encourage fans to actively dive in—on their commutes or during daily routines—rather than passively stream over the weekend. He criticized Fridays as leading to “passive listening,” where fans tune in amidst distractions like parties or downtime. The results speak for themselves. CHROMAKOPIA marked the biggest debut of Tyler’s career, topping the Billboard 200 with nearly 300,000 album units in just four days. Now, Don’t Tap the Glass is set to continue his creative momentum.
Notably, fans attending the upcoming CHROMAKOPIA tour dates this weekend can expect to hear Don’t Tap the Glass tracks before the album officially drops.
