It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed since our first conversation with UK singer/songwriter Twinnie. During our initial chat, the artist shared how her upbringing, listening to icons like Queen, Billy Joel, and Shania Twain, had a profound influence on her music. Twinnie also offered insights into her song “Bad Bad B*tch” and dropped hints about a series of upcoming singles leading up to a 2023 project.
Fast forward to today, and the Country/Pop sensation is gearing up to release her new EP, “Blue Hour,” set to drop in October. Three singles from the EP have already been released: “The Way I Loved You,” “Bad Man,” and “Sad Boy.”
But 2023 has proven to be an especially transformative year for Twinnie. She made a significant move, leaving her homeland, the UK, for the heart of country music, Nashville. This transition to the Music City has undeniably left its mark on her sound. “It is definitely pushing me to be at my best,” she enthusiastically stated.

How has your music evolved since the first interview?
I think I’m just in a really different place right now, my new music has been inspired by a really difficult year, that has now blossomed into something incredible and I’ve put that into these songs which has been cathartic. I’m excited about this era, and I think it really tells a story.
Relocating to Nashville, renowned as the Music City, must have had an impact on your creative process. Could you share how this change influenced your music?
It’s been amazing. Being surrounded by so many talented musicians on a daily basis is definitely pushing me to be at my best and I think you can hear those influces in what I’m putting out at the moment. I’m just really trying to immerse myself in the culture and build my listenership here too.

Can you tell us about your new EP ‘Blue Hour’? What inspired its creation, and what themes or stories do you sing about?
Blue Hour (After Dark) is inspired by the grieving process of a breakup. It’s inspired by the break down of a 10 year relationship that I was in. There’s a lot of hurt within the lyrics but there’s also hope and optmisim too, plus some fun as well. There’s chapters and it takes you on a journey. I’m really proud of what I’ve created and I can’t wait to share it in its entirety.
What is your favorite song on the EP and why?
That’s really tough, I love them all for different reasons. But I will say, The Way I Loved You was such a raw one for me. I wrote it entirely alone and I think that’s allowed it to say something that is entirely in my voice. It’s really connected with people and hearing their stories of grief and loss is just incredible. To be able to convey those emotions has been amazing for me and it’s the reason I love songwriting so much, it really does connect us all.
Write here something you want to let people know.
