WayV have officially entered a new era. The NCT unit released its eighth mini album, Vision Wings, on August 10, delivering a seven-track project that blends modern hip-hop with traditional Chinese influences while inviting fans into one of the group’s most ambitious concepts yet.
Available now on all major streaming platforms, Vision Wings arrives alongside the official music video for its title track, “鸢 (Vision Wings),” giving listeners their first complete look at the record’s cinematic world.
The mini album features seven songs, including both Chinese and English versions of “鸢 (Vision Wings).” Inspired by a collection of Chinese words that share the same pronunciation but carry different meanings, the project explores the ideals, determination and aspirations that continue to shape WayV’s identity. Rather than presenting disconnected tracks, the album unfolds as a cohesive narrative centered on perseverance and personal growth.
Leading the release is “鸢 (Vision Wings),” a performance-driven hip-hop track that merges jungle-inspired percussion with the elegant sound of the guzheng, creating a distinctive sonic identity. Using the image of a bird soaring through a storm, the song reflects the group’s confidence in overcoming obstacles while pushing beyond previous creative boundaries.
The accompanying music video expands on that vision through striking cinematic storytelling. Filmed against the backdrop of a Shaolin temple, the members portray warriors navigating dramatic environments filled with martial arts-inspired choreography, emphasizing themes of resilience, strength and ambition that run throughout the project.
Vision Wings also continues the momentum WayV has built over the past several years. The group made history with “Give Me That” in 2024 by becoming the first China-based act to win on a Korean music show, while subsequent releases including FREQUENCY, BIG BANDS, and the winter special album 白色定格 (Eternal White) strengthened their international presence across streaming platforms and global charts. Earlier in their career, “Love Talk” became the first song by a Chinese group to surpass 100 million Spotify streams, helping establish WayV as one of the genre’s leading multilingual acts.
The release arrives just weeks before another major milestone. On September 12 and 13, WayV will launch their 2026 WayV CONCERT TOUR [BORN THIS Way] with two performances at KBS Arena in Seoul, before expanding the trek across Asia with additional dates expected to be announced soon.
