BTS are back on the road with their most ambitious tour yet. The ARIRANG World Tour launches April 9, 2026, marking their long-awaited return to live performances following military service and riding the momentum of a record-breaking album cycle.
Tour Overview
The ARIRANG World Tour is BTS’ fourth concert tour and their largest to date, spanning more than 85 shows across 34 cities in 23 countries through 2027. The run begins in Goyang, South Korea, before expanding across Asia, North America, Europe, and Latin America.
Early demand has been unprecedented. Tickets for South Korea, North America, and Europe sold out within hours during both pre-sale and general sale windows. Additional dates were quickly added on April 8, including extra stops in Lima, Santiago, and Buenos Aires, as promoters scrambled to meet demand.
The tour was first reported in October 2025 as a major comeback event, later confirmed on January 13, 2026, with the reveal of the ARIRANG album title arriving just days after.
The Album Driving the Tour: ARIRANG
Momentum behind the tour is fueled by ARIRANG, BTS’ 2026 studio album, which has already rewritten streaming records. The project surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify in just 16 days, setting a new benchmark for the fastest album by a group and any Asian act in platform history.
Commercially, the album has dominated the Billboard 200, spending two consecutive weeks at No. 1. That performance extends BTS’ track record of chart-topping releases and reinforces the scale of anticipation surrounding the tour.
Stage Design and Production
This tour introduces a fully immersive 360-degree stage setup, placing fans around the performance area rather than in front of it. The in-the-round design allows for dynamic staging, multiple focal points, and closer artist-audience interaction regardless of seating position.
Ticket Demand and Additional Shows
Demand has reached levels rarely seen, even for BTS. Sellouts occurred within hours in multiple regions, with entire stadium runs disappearing during pre-sales. The scale of interest extended to government attention, as Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum publicly urged for additional dates after local promoters confirmed scheduling limitations.
Despite logistical challenges, organizers have continued expanding the itinerary. The Latin American leg saw immediate additions, signaling that further dates could follow into 2027 depending on availability.
Global Cinema Screenings
Fans unable to attend in person will still have access to the opening shows. BTS confirmed that the first concerts in Goyang and Tokyo will be broadcast live in theaters worldwide, transforming the tour into a hybrid live-cinema event.
The Goyang performance is scheduled for April 11, followed by Tokyo on April 18. Both screenings aim to replicate the stadium experience through high-definition projection and immersive audio, extending the reach of the tour beyond physical venues.
Recent Content and Comeback Build-Up
The tour rollout follows a carefully staged content strategy. On March 27, Netflix premiered BTS: THE RETURN, a documentary capturing the making of ARIRANG and the group’s creative process. Days earlier, on March 21, the platform released BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, filmed at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square.
