Jisoo has formally distanced herself from the ongoing controversy surrounding her older brother, with her legal team issuing a detailed statement on April 20 denying any connection to the case and clarifying her long-standing separation from family affairs. The response arrives amid intensifying online speculation linking the artist to allegations that have circulated widely across social platforms.
In a statement released by attorney Eun Hyun-ho of Kim & Chang, representing BLISSOO, the agency pushed back strongly against what it described as misinformation. “The issue currently being raised has absolutely no connection to the artist or BLISSOO,” the statement reads, adding that “much of the content circulating online consists of unverified speculation or clearly false information.” Legal representatives also emphasized that Jisoo “began trainee life at a young age and has lived apart from their family for a long time,” making it “impossible for them to be aware of or involved in that individual’s private life.”
The clarification follows a wave of reports tied to Jisoo’s brother, Kim Jung–hoon, who was arrested in mid-April 2026 by Seoul’s Gangnam Police after a female internet streamer accused him of forced molestation and non-consensual contact following a paid meeting. Prosecutors later declined to issue a formal arrest warrant, citing insufficient evidence, leading to his release. That decision has fueled competing narratives online, with resurfaced allegations from 2025—including claims of workplace misconduct and secret filming—compounding the situation, alongside new accusations from a woman identifying herself as his spouse.
Against that backdrop, BLISSOO’s statement draws a firm line between the artist and the individual at the center of the case. Representatives noted that while a family member “may have provided limited advice or acted as a messenger” during the company’s early setup, “they never received compensation or participated in decision-making.” The agency further clarified that it is now “being operated completely independently,” stressing that the individual in question “has no legal or managerial relationship with BLISSOO” and that “there has been absolutely no financial or legal support provided.”
Public reaction has been swift, with calls across social media for accountability often extending beyond the confirmed facts of the case. At the same time, voices closer to the situation—including the alleged spouse—have urged fans not to direct blame toward Jisoo, underscoring the complexity of separating personal relationships from professional accountability in the K-pop industry.
