LE SSERAFIM leader Kim Chaewon will not participate in the 2026 Weverse Con Festival after receiving hospital treatment for neck pain, SOURCE MUSIC announced on June 5. The agency confirmed that while her condition is improving, medical professionals have advised additional rest before she resumes activities.
In a statement shared with fans, SOURCE MUSIC revealed that Chaewon recently sought treatment after experiencing neck pain and has since been focusing on recovery.
“KIM CHAEWON recently received hospital treatment for neck pain,” the company stated. “Following examination, the medical team advised that she rest for a certain period and monitor her recovery, and she has since been focusing on recuperation.”
Although the singer’s recovery is reportedly progressing well, doctors determined that more time away from scheduled activities is necessary.
“While her recovery is progressing well, the medical team has determined that additional rest is necessary for a full recovery,” the statement continued. “Accordingly, we regret to inform you that KIM CHAEWON will not be able to participate in the 2026 Weverse Con Festival on June 7.”
The agency also addressed growing concern among fans, explaining that it is currently unable to provide a timetable for Chaewon’s return due to the need for ongoing monitoring.
“We are aware of the deep concern and warm support fans are showing for the artist’s health and future activities,” SOURCE MUSIC said. “However, as her recovery still requires close monitoring in accordance with medical advice, we are currently unable to provide a timeline for the resumption of her activities.”
The announcement arrives during a busy period for LE SSERAFIM. The group is currently promoting its latest project, PUREFLOW Pt. 1, which debuted at No. 10 on this week’s Billboard 200 with 41,000 equivalent album units. The achievement secured the quintet’s fifth top-10 entry on the chart, further cementing their position among K-pop’s strongest-performing acts in the United States.
Commercial momentum around the project has been fueled by the singles “Celebration” and “BOOMPALA.” Earlier this week, “Celebration” also received renewed attention through “CELEBRATION (Supergirl Ver.),” a collaboration tied to the upcoming SUPERGIRL film campaign.
