LISA trades the stage for a world of secret missions, hotel-room brawls, and cinematic chaos in the music video for “Tarantino,” released at midnight on October 23 alongside her six-track EP PRESS PLAY. Directed by Grammy-winning filmmaker James Mackel, the three-and-a-half-minute visual casts the BLACKPINK star as a blonde, leather-clad action heroine in a spy thriller inspired by the stylish violence and unpredictable storytelling associated with Quentin Tarantino’s films.

The video opens in a lavish hotel room, where LISA receives a mysterious red letter while preparing to leave. Her plans are interrupted when intruders break through the door, triggering a fight sequence that establishes her character as the one in control. Rather than fleeing, she takes on her attackers with punches, kicks, and sharply choreographed movements, turning an attempted ambush into the beginning of her own mission.

As the action moves through the hotel, LISA leads a dance sequence alongside chambermaids and bellboys before taking the confrontation into the kitchen. The contrast between polished choreography and chaotic fight scenes gives the video its distinctive rhythm, with a grainy film texture reinforcing its pulp-cinema aesthetic. One brief cameo also features a fan’s special-edition LISA DualSense PlayStation controller, nodding to her recent collaboration.

The closing scene leaves the story deliberately unresolved. LISA slips the red letter beneath a door to reach her “favorite director,” who is staying in the same building, introducing a final mystery without revealing what the message contains. The ending draws on the narrative twists associated with Tarantino’s work, while the broader visual language recalls the stylized action of Kill Bill.

Throughout the video, the imagery mirrors the song’s lyrics, which combine references to long nails, lipstick, gun barrels, and a boss determined to keep moving forward. LISA’s performance balances her familiar pop-star confidence with a more physical, character-driven approach, making the video feel like a compact action film rather than a conventional performance clip.

“Tarantino” arrives as part of PRESS PLAY, LISA’s first new solo project since her 2025 album Alter Ego. The six-track EP also includes “SaWaDiKa,” released on September 4, which introduced the project’s Thai-inspired imagery, assertive rap delivery, and bass-heavy production. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, LISA described the EP as a movie, with each song representing a different character while contributing to a larger story about her journey from Thailand to global stardom.
