ROSÉ’s highly anticipated debut solo album, Rosie, is finally here! The LP marks a strong and promising debut for the K-pop idol and pop superstar. The album’s potential was evident from the release of its lead single, “APT.” Featuring pop icon Bruno Mars, the song’s infectious beats and uplifting energy quickly captivated fans, amassing over 500 million streams on Spotify and 500 million views on YouTube. The second single, “Number One Girl,” further highlights Bruno Mars’s involvement as co-producer. However, the high energy that defines “APT.” is not representative of the entire album. In fact, ROSÉ adopts a more heartfelt, storytelling approach across the other 11 tracks. Clear examples of this are “Stay a Little Longer” and “Number One Girl.”

Rosie arrives three years after ROSÉ’s initial solo venture, her debut single album R, which showcased her ability to shine as a solo artist with hits like “On the Ground” and “Gone.” The 27-year-old singer revealed that work on her first full-length album began after BLACKPINK concluded their record-breaking Born Pink World Tour in 2023. She traveled to Los Angeles to write and record new music, sharing, “There were nights I felt lost and confused, but with the support of my friends, family, and of course, my fans, I’m so excited to share this little journal of mine.” The album’s title reflects a personal connection, as she explained: “Rosie is the name my loved ones call me, and with this album, I hope you feel that much closer to me.”

In a recent interview with Paper Magazine, ROSÉ expressed her goal to reveal a “more vulnerable and open” side of herself through Rosie.
