Released in late 2024 as single from ROSÉ’s debut solo album Rosie, “APT.” quickly became a cultural phenomenon, dominating charts and streaming platforms worldwide. The song topped both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts upon release, giving ROSÉ her second No. 1. It also broke records on Spotify, becoming the fastest track by a K-pop act to surpass 100 million streams and later racing to one billion streams in just 100 days—second only to Mars’ “Die with a Smile” with Lady Gaga.
Upon its release, “APT.” topped Apple Music charts in 61 countries, making history as the first K-Pop song to achieve this feat. Just three months after its release, the music video surpassed 900 million views in just 93 days, becoming the fastest by a K-Pop act to reach this mark and the first to do so in under 100 days, breaking a decade-long record previously held by PSY’s “Gangnam Style,” which achieved the same milestone in 144 days.
Beyond numbers, the impact of “APT.” has been felt worldwide. The track spent 12 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Global 200 and 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Global Excl. US, setting a new record for the longest run in the chart’s history. It was also named Song of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, giving ROSÉ her first VMA win.
