New Music Friday brings fresh releases from LISA and Kacey Musgraves on October 23.
LISA’s PRESS PLAY, released through LLOUD and RCA Records, marks her first solo project since her 2025 debut studio album Alter Ego. The six-track collection features “SaWaDiKa,” “V12,” “COBRA,” “TARANTINO,” “CUT U OFF” and “SWEAT,” bringing together her hip-hop influences, pop production and a more personal concept rooted in her Thai heritage.
The project follows “SaWaDiKa,” which arrived September 4 and established the direction of LISA’s new era. Inspired by the Thai greeting sawatdee kha, the single combines bass-heavy production with confident rap delivery, while its music video, filmed in Bangkok, incorporates local settings and imagery inspired by Muay Thai boxing.
“SaWaDiKa” debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, extending LISA’s run on the US singles chart, while reaching No. 23 on the Billboard Global 200. The new EP arrives alongside “Tarantino,” a cinematic track teased ahead of release.
Meanwhile, Kacey Musgraves is expanding the world of Middle of Nowhere with Middle of Nowhere, Vol. 2: Tex Mex Tapes, announced for January 15, 2027. The singer-songwriter is releasing two new songs, “Weekend In Texas” and “Mi Tesoro,” offering another taste of the Texas-rooted sounds that have shaped her latest era.
The announcement follows Middle of Nowhere, Musgraves’ seventh studio album, released May 1 through Lost Highway Records. The album also delivered a strong commercial opening, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 100,000 equivalent album units in its first week. It topped Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart.
Noteworthy releases also come from Dove Cameron, BABYMONSTER, Yeat, Yung Miami, ATEEZ, MINNIE, John Legend, and more.
