The 2026 ARIA Awards nominations are here, with Genesis Owusu and Tame Impala leading the field with eight nominations each as Australian music prepares to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its biggest awards night. Ecca Vandal follows with seven nods, while Baker Boy, BOY SODA, G Flip, Miss Kaninna and Ninajirachi each earn five.
The milestone 40th edition of the ARIA Awards will bring together established Australian stars, international successes and some of the country’s fastest-rising artists when the ceremony takes place on Wednesday, November 18, at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Gadigal land. Artists will compete across 29 categories.

Genesis Owusu enters the ceremony with one of the strongest nomination hauls of his career. His third album, REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE, reached No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and No. 1 on both the Australian Albums and Vinyl Albums charts. His eight nominations include Album of the Year, Best Solo Artist, Best Independent Release presented by PPCA, Best Alternative Release and Best Australian Live Act presented by Destination NSW, alongside Best Video, Best Cover Art and Producer – Best Produced Release.
Tame Impala also lands eight nominations following the release of Deadbeat. Kevin Parker’s “Dracula” has spent 18 weeks in the ARIA Singles Chart’s Top 10, peaking at No. 4 and becoming his highest-charting single to date. The project earns recognition in Album of the Year, Best Solo Artist, Best Pop Release, Best Dance/Electronic Release, Best Alternative Release and Song of the Year, with additional nominations for Best Engineered Release and Best Produced Release.
The 40th anniversary celebrations began in June with the ARIA Hall of Fame Special Event at Sydney’s Carriageworks, where Gurrumul, Jenny Morris, Kate Ceberano, Spiderbait, The Living End and Vika & Linda were inducted.
