Taylor Swift has added a third page to the stacked-paper image displayed beneath her masters letter on her official website, immediately sparking speculation that a new announcement could be approaching. The update comes less than a week before the 2026 MTV VMAs, where Taylor Swift is already set to make history as the first recipient of the Artist Director award.
The visual previously showed two pages: Swift’s handwritten May 2025 letter announcing that she had purchased the master recordings of her first six albums, followed by the tracklist for The Life of a Showgirl. A third sheet has now been added underneath them, although only its edge is currently visible, leaving fans without any readable information about what it contains.

The timing has quickly turned the website update into a potential Easter egg. Fans have pointed to the 479-day gap since Taylor Swift’s original masters announcement and connected the new page with recent speculation surrounding the next stage of her Taylor’s Version project, particularly the long-awaited Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version).
Taylor Swift’s original letter marked a major turning point in a story that had followed her since the sale of her former label Big Machine’s catalog. She revealed that she had acquired ownership of the masters for her first six albums, along with music videos, concert films, artwork, photography and unreleased songs, from Shamrock Capital.
At the time, Swift described the purchase as her “greatest dream come true,” while crediting the commercial success of her re-recording campaign and The Eras Tour with helping make the deal possible. She also explained that Shamrock had offered her complete ownership without requiring a partnership arrangement, allowing her to regain control of the catalog outright.
The letter also provided an update on the two remaining Taylor’s Version projects. Taylor Swift said she had already completely re-recorded her self-titled debut album and was pleased with how it sounded. Reputation (Taylor’s Version), however, was a different story: she said she had barely begun work on the album because she felt its original production and creative identity were too closely tied to a specific period to be meaningfully improved through a remake.
That explanation made the debut album the more immediate possibility, particularly because Swift said any future vault material or a new version of her debut would now be released as a celebration rather than something driven by a desire to reclaim what she had lost.
Taylor Swift’s upcoming VMAs appearance gives the timing additional intrigue. She is already scheduled to receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Award on September 27, while entering the ceremony with 11 nominations across competitive and fan-voted categories.
