Cardi B is not holding back in the ongoing debate about the Grammy Awards. In a new interview with Billboard, the 32-year-old rapper spoke about how artists often dismiss the Recording Academy’s biggest honor—while still seeking validation from it.
“Everybody always wants to downplay it, but everybody wants one,” Cardi told Billboard. “Every year they downplay the Grammys, but every year they submit their music.” Over the course of her career, she has earned 10 nominations for the most prestigious award in the music industry. She has taken it home just once—but it was historic. Her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy earned her the Grammy for Best Rap Album, making her only the second female rapper to ever win the award.

Her comments come just weeks before the release of her long-awaited sophomore album Am I The Drama?, due September 18. The record arrives seven years after Invasion of Privacy and has already been previewed with two singles: “Outside” and “Imaginary Playerz.”
Alongside her thoughts on the Grammys, Cardi also opened up about her return to the stage. According to Billboard, her North American tour is set to kick off in February 2026, running through April with more than 30 cities on the schedule. It will mark her first headlining run since 2019, when she performed at major arenas and festivals around the world.

Shared on TikTok, the clip sparked buzz not only for the music but also for her bold creative choice: Cardi appeared with a fake pregnancy bump—a cheeky move designed to fuel conversation and keep anticipation high ahead of the album.
