Cardi B has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind her highly anticipated sophomore album AM I THE DRAMA?. The rapper revealed that the project’s original cover art was not the one fans see today, but instead a striking pink-themed design now familiar as the Pretty and Petty variant.
According to the rapper, it was originally set to be the album’s main artwork. “I was like, ‘You know what, I don’t think this is enough. I don’t think this is the one.’ That’s when I did my main album cover after I gave birth,” she explained. “But now y’all talking about y’all liked this cover, and it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, I don’t know if I know y’all like that.’”
