Charli XCX’s new music may be on the horizon. In a recent interview with New York Magazine, the British pop icon teased that she could be gearing up to release a “full-length project” soon. While she kept details under wraps, she hinted that it’s “definitely in the bratosphere,” suggesting a concept tied to her bold and futuristic musical style.
The singer-songwriter also revealed she’s been spending time in the studio with big names like Bon Iver and Danielle Haim of HAIM, sparking speculation about what these collaborations could bring to her new work.

In the same interview, Charli opened up about her complex relationship with Atlantic Records. She described the dynamic as “tricky,” explaining that she’s often been “interpreted as difficult” due to her high standards and strong creative vision. “I don’t suffer bullsh**ters,” she noted, highlighting the prevalence of such figures in the music industry.
Reflecting on her 2022 album CRASH, Charli XCX admitted that it was a “sell-out main pop girlie” album, acknowledging that while it brought mainstream success, it’s not a direction she plans to pursue long-term. “Do I want to be singing ‘Good Ones’ forever? Personally, no,” she said. “Those songs don’t get me off as much.”
This summer, Charli released one of the most acclaimed albums, BRAT, earning a spot on the 2024 Mercury Prize shortlist. She maintained momentum by dropping remixes with artists like Lorde (“Girl, So Confusing”) and Billie Eilish (“Guess”).
