The 70th Ivor Novello Awards took place today at Grosvenor House in London, spotlighting the finest achievements in songwriting and screen composition. Organized by The Ivors Academy, the prestigious event honored 22 songwriters and composers across 14 categories. Charli XCX took home the coveted Songwriter of the Year award, following the success of her chart-topping 2024 album Brat, which debuted at No. 1 in the UK and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Legendary Irish rock band U2Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr.—were inducted into the Ivors Academy Fellowship, the organization’s highest honor. Introduced by Ed Sheeran, the award recognizes U2’s extraordinary influence on global music and songwriting. They are the first Irish act ever to receive the distinction. Robbie Williams was awarded the PRS for Music Icon Award, celebrating his remarkable legacy as a solo artist and songwriter. Other notable winners include Lola Young and Brandon Flowers.
