Ella Langley keeps adding to her record-breaking year. Her smash hit “Choosin’ Texas” has now spent a 12th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, placing it among the longest-leading chart-toppers ever recorded by a female artist.
According to Billboard, the single joins an exclusive group of just 26 songs in Hot 100 history to rule for 12 weeks or longer. Among songs by women without male-billed collaborators, it now ranks as the fifth longest-leading No. 1 ever, trailing only Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (22 weeks), “We Belong Together” (14), Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” (14), and Brandy & Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” (13).
The milestone also extends Langley’s standing as the only artist primarily known for country music to achieve a 12-week No. 1 on the Hot 100 without a male-billed collaborator. Just one week earlier, “Choosin’ Texas” surpassed Debby Boone’s “You Light Up My Life” to become the longest-leading Hot 100 leader by a woman with a country hit.
Langley remains one of the chart’s biggest success stories overall. This week, she places three songs inside the Hot 100’s top 10 once again, with “Be Her” holding at No. 3 and “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” featuring Morgan Wallen, climbing to a new peak of No. 6. Billboard notes that she has now accumulated six weeks with three simultaneous top 10 hits in 2026—more than every other artist combined.
Her breakthrough year has extended far beyond the charts. In May, Langley dominated the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards, winning Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Artist-Songwriter of the Year.
Elsewhere on this week’s Hot 100, Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” remains at No. 2, Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might” returns to the top 10 at No. 10, while Tame Impala and JENNIE reach a new career high together as “Dracula” climbs to No. 8.
