Ella Langley has made Billboard Hot 100 history with “Choosin’ Texas,” as the country crossover hit spends its 20th week at No. 1 on the chart. The milestone gives Langley the longest-running No. 1 non-holiday song in Hot 100 history and makes her the first woman ever to spend 20 weeks atop the chart in a single year.
Released October 17, 2025, “Choosin’ Texas” first reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 2026, becoming Ella Langley’s first chart-topper on the all-genre chart. Its latest week extends a run that has now surpassed the previous non-holiday record shared by Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road,” both of which spent 19 weeks at No. 1.
The achievement places Ella Langley in exceptionally rare company. Only one song has spent more weeks at the top of the Hot 100: Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has accumulated 22 weeks at No. 1 across multiple holiday seasons since first topping the chart in 2019. Unlike Carey’s seasonal classic, however, “Choosin’ Texas” has maintained its historic run outside the Christmas period.
Ella Langley’s record comes during a breakout year that has transformed her from a rising country artist into a mainstream chart force. Her sophomore album, Dandelion, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April 2026, while “Choosin’ Texas” also dominated country radio and the Hot Country Songs chart.
The latest Hot 100 update also keeps country music firmly in control near the top of the chart. Stella Lefty’s “Boston” holds at its No. 2 peak, Taylor Swift’s “I Knew, I Knew You” remains at No. 3 after spending its first two weeks at No. 1 in June, and Morgan Wallen’s “Been by Now” stays at No. 4 after debuting at No. 2.
