Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” remains at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, extending its historic reign to 21 weeks. With just one more week at the summit, Langley could tie the longest-running No. 1 hit in the chart’s history.
The country crossover smash first reached No. 1 in February 2026, giving Langley her first leader on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then, “Choosin’ Texas” has turned into one of the most dominant hits of the decade, breaking record after record while holding the top spot outside the holiday season.

At 21 weeks, “Choosin’ Texas” now sits alone at No. 2 on the list of the longest-running No. 1 songs in Billboard Hot 100 history. Only Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has spent more time at No. 1, with 22 weeks accumulated across multiple holiday seasons since first topping the chart in 2019.
That makes next week potentially historic for Langley. If “Choosin’ Texas” remains at No. 1 for a 22nd week, it will tie Carey’s holiday classic for the most weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. Unlike Carey’s seasonal smash, however, Langley’s record has been built almost entirely outside the Christmas period.
The milestone comes only one week after Langley already rewrote the record books. “Choosin’ Texas” became the longest-running No. 1 non-holiday song in Hot 100 history when it passed the 19-week runs of Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road.”
Ella Langley also became the first woman to spend 20 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in a single year. The latest chart update pushes that record even further, giving her 21 weeks at the summit in 2026.
Country music continues to dominate the upper reaches of the Hot 100 alongside Langley. Stella Lefty’s “Boston” holds at No. 2, while Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” remains No. 3 after beginning its chart run with two weeks at No. 1 in June. Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” climbs to No. 4, while Morgan Wallen’s “Been by Now” falls to No. 5.
Tame Impala and JENNIE’s “Dracula” stays at No. 6, followed by other major names before Bruno Mars’ “Risk It All” returns to the Top 10 at No. 9.
Langley’s historic Hot 100 run has also arrived during a defining year for her career. Her sophomore album, Dandelion, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April, while “Choosin’ Texas” has simultaneously dominated country radio and the Hot Country Songs chart.
