Ella Langley has reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, as “Choosin’ Texas” rises back to No. 1 for a fifth total week. The single rebounds after being briefly displaced by BTS’ “Swim,” further cementing Langley’s breakout run.
With its fifth week at the summit, “Choosin’ Texas” sets a new benchmark in chart history. The track now stands as the longest-running No. 1 by a female-led country crossover on the Hot 100, extending a record Langley first established in late March when the song reached four weeks at No. 1. That milestone pushed past Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” which logged three weeks atop the chart in 2012. Earlier cross-genre leaders include Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” (two weeks in 2024) and Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” (1981) and “Islands in the Stream” with Kenny Rogers (1983), both of which peaked with two weeks at No. 1.
Released on October 17, 2025, “Choosin’ Texas” serves as the lead single from Langley’s forthcoming second album Dandelion. The track was written by Langley alongside Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert, and Joybeth Taylor, with production handled by Lambert and Ben West. Its commercial performance has defined Langley’s current era, delivering her first Hot 100 No. 1 and earning Platinum certification in the United States.
Momentum around the single continues to build as Dandelion approaches release. The album, due April 10, 2026 via Sawgod and Columbia Records, follows her 2024 debut Hungover. Langley has already expanded the rollout with additional singles, including “Loving Life Again,” which arrived as the project’s fourth official release.
